Basanos is an independent AI security company. We build crucible, a security testing tool for AI systems.
What we do
crucible is our product: an intercepting proxy and attack suite for AI systems, for red teamers and AI security testers. It sits between an AI app and the model it calls, so you can read and alter the prompts, run attacks against the model, and keep the evidence when one lands.
How we work
We make the tools we would use ourselves, and we are honest about what they do. crucible claims only what it does. It runs on your machine with no account and no telemetry: your work stays in local project files, we never see it, and we never use it to train anything.
The name
Basanos is the Greek word for a touchstone: the stone once used to test whether gold was real. That is the idea behind crucible, applied to AI systems.
